Description

I've got 44 little symbols to name... I'll get through them eventually. By then I'll have invented more. Plus a way to use 'em properly. Heheh.

So far Arvh'esh (arrv-esh) is fire and Equi (eh-kee) is water... ice is Nau'equi (now-eh-kee)...electricity is Xoter'rno (zo-tayr-ri-no)... earth is Ome (oh-meh)... rock is Dyran'nai (dee-rahn-na-ee)... metal is Revon'der (ray-von-der)... wind is Bekuu (beh-koo). More to come. Also I hate the alphabet : D

Basically the intonation, thought, writing, or construction of certain symbols alone or in orders will produce a reaction from the elemental power that comes first in the equation/sentence. The secondary, or subscript, runes guide the elemental being used to perform a certain task. These can vary from creating a shield to protect you, to summoning an elemental projection such as an imp, sirion, or golem.

The price of using the runes for one's purpose varies from elemental to elemental. It is usually energy or life force. Sometimes they will claim memories or cause an alteration of physical appearance. While the use of fire burns one's energy up if it is used too much by a single commoner/apprentice/magus/consulate, the act of using the symbol of chaos (normally a secondary rune, though it does have properties alone) as a fore-rune in an equation can rob someone of memories. Death always takes life force whenever used, while life transfers life force by causing the user of the rune to give up a small amount of their own to make their equation work. Favoring any elemental will start to change appearance, an example being that a favoring of the ice element in spellwork causes hair, skin, and irises to become crystalline and transparent.

The elementals are complicated and do not easily explain themselves to the humans who try to master them. Sirions, imps, and golems, though forced into their shapes by runes, are actually pure manifestations of their elementals, though they "borrow" some life force to keep them going untill they are dismissed, which gives them the ability to comprehend things. Golems are used for strong physical attack, as they are very large. Their comprehension is low. Sirions are good in large numbers as attackers, or loyal familiars if left undismissed, and appear in wolflike forms of their elemental. Imps are good for stealth and planning, with an excellent comprehension. While they are not strong attackers or defenders, they are usually summoned for their knowledge of geography and their binding to their summoner to answer every question truthfully. Imps are usually only ever seen as the companions of a magus or consulate, as they require a large amount of a single elemental's power to manifest themselves.
